The day no one
wanted to see....has arrived!
America is now engaged in a war
in a foreign land where many of
our fellow Americans are
fighting for Freedom and
Liberty, not only for us but
for the Iraqi people. It is
time for everyone regardless of their Political party affiliations to now support and uphold our Military.
During the time of the
Viet Nam war...this countrys'
people were divided on the
issue of that conflict and when
our brave and couragous troops
came back home, they received
not accolades or any praise for
their efforts but were spit
upon and called
"baby-killers"! This
was a total disgrace upon our country and a disgrace to anyone who did such terrible things. The wounds and scars, emotionally done to our troops by our own people still exists in their hearts and minds...today!
Now....we are engaged
in another conflict! We will
lose many of our countrymen but
this is the risk, that they
were willing to take, as did
the Brave crew of the Columbia.
But this time....I pray that
Americans will stand
"UNITED" behind our
Military. There must be nothing
worse for any military person
than to be away from their
country, fighting for what we
stand for and know that back
home, the people do not support
them!
This is a war...we
did not ask for. The world has
changed mightily since
September 11, 2001 and the
fight against terrorism has now
engulfed the entire world.
Gone...is the easy, open way we
Americans, lived our lives.
Those days may never come
again. but when an brutal
dictator, like Saddam is
determined to make and use
terrifying weapons of
destruction then America can
not stand by and do nothing!
Thank God, other countries of
this world join us in this
effort to stop this horror.
We need to uphold our
Military in our thoughts and
more importantly....in our
PRAYERS. Let no one doubt the
power of prayer for I, myself,
would not even be here if
people had not prayed for me,
four years ago. We need to fly
our flags whether on our cars
or at our homes. Let the world
see that America, regardless of
any "pre-war"
thinking, support our brave men
& women. Our thoughts and
prayers need to include the
Military of ALL the other
countries that are with us in
this grave endeavour.
This war is not for Revenge, this war is not for Oil....this war was brought about because an Evil man refused to disarm and destroy his terrible weapons! No one can say how long this conflict will last but the best and most important thing we can do...is to stand UNITED. United behind our troops and United behind our President. Let the world see that America is a country that believes in Freedom and Liberty for All.
Yes..."UNITED WE STAND"!!
