As Thanksgiving season approaches....and I realize it isn't Thanksgiving every
place in the world, I think it is most important to still remember, we in this World have much to be be thankful
for.
We have passed the 1 year mark of September 11th and the world is still pretty much intact. We have
captured or killed members of the Taliban & Al-Queda and the hunt for the terrorists goes on...World-wide. That
madman, Osuma has not been seen, only heard, making threats! He is like Saddam, he Loves to be Seen, especially
with a big gun in his hand, either posing with it or shooting it off! I know our President is from Texas and is
even called a "cowboy"...by some, but I would have a fit if I saw him hold a press conference and shoot
off an AKA in the air!! God forbid!
Pedophiles kidnap and kill the children and many children are missing
all over the world. The children are losing their innocence because they have to be forwarned about
"stranger-danger". Drug-pushers are still plying their trade ruining millions of lives with their
poisons.The Catholic church has major sex scandals and Corporate Greed has affected millions of innocent investors.
The beautiful island of Bali was devastated by terrorists bombings, killing
mostly Aussies who were vacationing in this tropical paradise. Leave it to Al-Queda to destroy beauty &
lovliness and leave nothing but destruction behind.
In the Fall of 2002 the U.S.A. was terrorized by "Mad-Dog
Sniper-Killers", who murdered 10 innocent people and wounded 3 others. Even now, more information is piling up
that they are also responsible for other murders across the USA. Thank God these vicious killers are now in custody
awaiting a fair trial and then.......Justice shall be served, according to our Laws!!
Yet in spite of these
terrible things in the world....we need to stop and give thanks that we wake up each day...still alive. It beats
the alternative. I feel it is only with the "Grace of God'...we make it at all. The most important thing we
can possess is the "Spirit of Hope". There is a great scripture which says..."Hope deferred....makes
the heart sick".
So no matter what we face each day...let us have HOPE and give thanks for being able
to draw another breath. To see the shining sun...the silvery moon...the sparkling stars, billowy clouds,
butterflies, flowers, birds on the wing. I love this old hymn which I chose for this page."It is Well with my
Soul" for it speaks eloquently.
"When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul."
No one can say....what the future shall hold for any of us but
we need to always hold on to Hope and proclaim."It is well with my Soul". In these dangerous times it is
good to remember that God is Still in control. Even when it looks crazy...He is in control. When terrible things
happen...He is in Control.
His ways...are not our ways. It is wise to remember, "Lean not to your own
understanding but in all ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your paths". "It is through Him we move
and live and have our being".
There is much to be grateful and thankful for. If you have...even one
person in this world whom you love & care about then you have much to be thankful for! So when problems beset
you and life seems too much, when troubles roll over on you, say to yourself.."It is Well with
my Soul. Can I get an AMEN...to that?! May you all have a most Happy Thanksgiving time of year and remember to be
Thankful....all the year through.
