Since man first gazed up at the stars he wondered how to reach them. Since man first glimpsed them through a telescope, he yearned to travel out beyond this earth. The Quest for
answers, the thirst for knowledge keeps leading man, ever skyward. The Eternal Heavens, continually beckon.
In modern times, man has finally realized this dream, to hurtle himself upward and outward. It started as
baby-steps and now takes great leaps and bounds. The process of this great adventure draws from man, all that is great within him. Dedicated men & women strive for excellency in this exciting and challenging field.
No one who is drawn to this high calling can turn aside for "something" more beyond themselves...calls them.
And so it was with the crew of the Columbia, for from all over the world, in various times and places
"something"....called them. In the USA, They were called, in India...She was called.. in Israel, He was called. They threw themselves with wild abandon but also with measured steadiness into their great calling.
They studied, laughed, slept, ate, lived...this dream together.Like droplets of water, now merged into a vast sea of knowledge, wisdom and experiences they melded together into a great and glorious team of Unity.
Discounting the possible dangers of flight, they eagerly sought the Mission.
We may never know their last moments together but this we do know....they were doing what they loved to do the best. They were with their pals,
companions and dear friends. They left this world...as a unit to make the Final Journey...together!!
The universe is full of mysteries, wonderous things to be discovered. The search for knowledge will always go on
and the crew of the Columbia should be a role model to the youth of the world...that they too, can dream of touching the stars and nothing is beyond their imaginings!
We need parents who care...teachers that care, we
don't need any more gangta-rappers...we don't need any more sexy girls with pierced belly-buttons, singing, dancing and throwing themselves around on stage. We don't need Hollywood movie stars, setting bad examples for our
youth. We need more examples of the "good things of life". More dedicated people whose purpose it is to serve their "fellow man" instead of their hedonistic selves. I sure am getting sick of these kinds of
people!!!
Evil men...scheme...Schemes! Good men...dream...Dreams. May the young people of this world look to the Heroes of Columbia for their dreams. May these brilliant people who were taken from us...be a shining beacon, a light on the hilltop, inspiring young people to dream well and dream big! There is a scripture that says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish". (Prov.29:18) May the youth of the world....catch a vision and enriched the world with their own lives, as have the crew of Columbia.
