i am a vietnam vet who spent over 22,000 hours in combat in the field, and my response to the request for permission to desecrate my flag is"OVER MY DEAD BODY" !!!! Al Hornbrook

I am proud to live in the United States of America..In fact,I live in Virginia. My father is a vet. of World War II. He
is a parapallegic..meaning he has permanent spinal cord
injury as a result of an "enemy" bullet received on foreign
soil. We were raised to respect the flag and all that it
stands for; I have also raised my children with the same
attitude. I have seen my father in a great deal of pain as
a result of that bullet; however, because of my dad and all
the other servicemen, regardless of the branch, Americans
enjoy that freedom that so many take for granted. Hats off
to all servicemen, both retired, deceased or on active duty
today. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for
sharing this page with all the world to see. I know that
you have touched many lives because of your beautiful web
pages. Even though you may not have written it, you designed
a heart-touching page to share with everyone.

Proud to be an American,
Mary Ann

You may use my first name and any comment that you wish to use. I hope
ppl read it and stop to think of the pain that the men and women who
survived the war experience daily. When my dad was first injured, the
doctors gave him a life expectance of 25 years. He was injured on
November 19, 1944. He was also told he would never walk again. Today,
my dad can walk with a leg brace and is only one of two men in the
United States alive today with this same spinal cord injury. I am very
proud of my father and all the ppl. in the service, both past and present,
that have given of themselves so all Americans can enjoy the
freedoms so many take for granted..
So, dear Sky, you may use my first name and if you like, my email
addy.. I have sent your pages to many of my friends.

Thank you for being such a beautiful person.
Mary Ann

What a wonderful wake up call for some that might be slipping or just plain not caring any more. But, also for those of us who love our country and flag. it was beautiful. Patti

I wish I had written the "Permission to Burn the American Flag".

Without question, the one group who should receive this message is
the Supreme Court of the United States of America. They have
violated that which is righteous, just and most of all, that which is
logical. I'm going to try my best to get this message to them.

I am starting to believe that morality, accountability and respect
may be the most favorable assets of the Internet in the long run.
It gives people a way of communicating without the hassle of trying
to do so. Thus differences can and will be discussed and truths will
eventually predominate.

I've just finished reading "Our Flag" and I know of one politician that I'm
going to send it to. I have tears running down my face as I think about
someone wanting to spit or burn "Old Glory". How dare they even live in this
nation with feelings like that. I will indeed send this out to everyone I
know. God Bless you for this page ... and also, thank you for using "Amazing
Grace". There couldn't be a more appropriate song for this.

Lynda

Thanks Sis for sharing this beautiful poem on Our American
Flag. Know you didn't write it, but great that you wanted
to put it with your poetry page to share with the world,
and espeically Americans. It's wonderful to get to travel
the world and see other countries and all they have to
offer, but THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE GOOD OLD U.S.A.
One really appreicates coming home to it after traveling
elsewhere. We aren't perfect but it is still the land of
opportunity for those who want to work, and if we try, we
can all work to make America a better place to live FOR ALL!
Love You, Sis~Margo

Love your page on the flag sent it to everyone on my list this morning. If they want to burn the flag they should ask permission from Mrs. Sullivan who lost five sons in the Navy during World War II.  I cant believe after watching our men
die that people can even consider burning the flag they died for. I am afraid only we older people remember the Sullivan brothers. They did
make a movie about it but that was a long time ago. Maybe they need to replay it.   Joan

Thank you for this wonderful tribute to our flag. I served
in the U.S.N.R. I'm a very Patriotic person, and proud of
it. Thank you again Gladys

This brought tears to my eyes. Absolutely beautiful. I am
proud to be an American. Ours Marines in Hawaii passed by
my place of business as they returned home. So wonderful to
have been a part of that. Thanks for your aloha ...Lucrecia

Hi,
Thank you for that web page. I am so proud of you. It just makes my blood
boil when I see someone burn our flag! But this page says it all!
My Dad served 22 years in the Military, my husband served 10, so I know what
the flag means to the Armed forces, to me, & to my family and friends. I will
defiantly pass this on to everyone in my address book....Judy

I wish to thank you for the best email I have ever received. I will be sending it on esp. to my vet buddys. I think it means more to us in my
age group. I am 70. Thanks again. Clyde Cassady

Once again I must bless you for all you do,this is very moving to me and
yes I am an American. Have had a father who fought for this country and
a child who also was military, she's alive thank God.I always pray for
all the good of our flag, leave the ignorance to those who don't like our
flag. The rest of us must be proud. Again I love your work, keep it up.
