In this 1st year of 2000.... (altho some still want to argue it isn't 2000 yet)....we celebrate several important Patriotic Holidays!! Memorial Day, 4th of July, Flag Day, Veteran's Day. We as Americans, have a glorious heritage, that we should be proud of. We are like no other country in the World! Our flag is recognized all over the world.. Above all things it represents FREEDOM & LIBERTY......for All!

Our 2nd Greatest symbol, I think, is our Lovely "Lady Liberty" What an Inspiration she is....to those seeking Freedom & Liberty....from Oppression, Tyranny, Poverty, Brutality or just a New Life!! Many of our forefathers...sailed to America for just those reasons. As the ships brought them closer to these great shores, they stood on the decks, craning their heads, for that 1st glimpse of HER! Finally......when they saw Her......they cried, they cheered, some fainted from the excitement.Where else.....in this world, can a Monument, cause such Joy and Happiness??

NO WHERE!!

Thank you..to the Nation of France...for the Gift of "Our Lady Liberty"...in 1886!!

Written  on the base of the LADY...is this poem:

Throughout the history of our great country.....we have stood for Freedom and Liberty. 'LADY LIBERTY'....has shown the WAY! She does...."LIFT HER LAMP BESIDE THE GOLDEN DOOR!" WE are......that Golden Door. Long may she continue to be a Great symbol, not only to us in America, but to all who desperately yearn to come here. This is STILL....the only Nation in the WORLD....where people are "Knocking down the doors to get IN!"

Don't you often wonder....if those who "Demand", their "free speech"....that allows them to burn our flag, would also attempt to burn down "Lady Liberty"....to "make a statement"?? I would LOVE....to see them try!!!! They need to get "Creative." Instead of "burning flags", Try this:..... Try VOTING!!

We, as a Nation.....are not Perfect, that's for  sure...but we are still, "The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave". LET US NEVER FORGET IT!! We have the best form of Government. We have the most , Caring, Generous, Loving People in the World.....! It is our Politicians we need to CHANGE. We need to VOTE many of them OUT of office!! We need to take back our streets, teach Respect for Oneself  & Others, Honor our Flag and Country, put Prayer and  the "Pledge of Allegiance" back into our schools and return to the VALUES,  we once held so Dear. Mostly, we need to ALWAYS....Cherish what we have.........Freedom and Liberty.               GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
