Little faces stained with tears. Why do they cry??
Because Daddy left or Mommie, said goodbye?
Was it so important..to have your "OWN" way
Was it worth it..to hurt these precious little ones so much.
Did it matter who was right or who was wrong
Or who said what..to whom or when.
YOU got mad...you Both said terrible things to each other
The children heard it all.....and were SO afraid.
They huddle in their beds
Tears stream down their faces..
Because the voices...got louder and angrier
Wasn't there the chance MANY times
to make this right between you?
NOOOOOO.....you say...it was His fault or Her fault
And I am Sick of it!!
But now.....the children are sick....sick in their spirits
Because they are afraid....that No One cares for them.
How can Mommie or Daddy care about them when
The voices...scream out in RAGE!?
Don't they know....that children are too precious to hurt
That their little hearts break with anquish..
When Mommie & Daddy fight so much!
But, it is very important to be RIGHT!!
So no one will give in
The children cry alone at night
And who will win??
NO ONE!!!
Selfishness is usually at the core of most Split-ups
For each must be Right....or at least, the Victim!
But Once upon a Time, two people vowed to LOVE..Forever
Now.....the vow is smashed...and so are the Children
Forever, their little hearts will hurt
For no one wins in the End
Mommie & Daddy forgot the Vow and the Love and
The Children, Because.....they were soooo Right!
Yes.. little faces...stained with tears..
Who will hold them close,
Dry their eyes, & Heal their Broken hearts?
They will be forever...changed!
Should a child be used as a Pawn
or a Weapon...when parents are now engaged in their Battles
Never.......but it is done, over and over again.
The children are now caught in a Trap
For they Love...BOTH parents, always.
Now it feels like they must "take sides"
As Mommie & Daddy....line up
For the BIG BATTLE.
Worse of all....the Children feel that
THEY are, somehow to blame for all of this.
Children don't realize, that this is really between the parents. Parents, who now are so Determined to WIN!!
But this is a Losing Game.
So life will roll on, for all the participants in this game.
Mommie will have a new "Gentleman Caller"
Daddy will have a new "Lady-Friend".
But who....can Love the children, as well as the True Parents?
Alas this, the parents abdicated, when the "trouble" started
For it was more important.. to be RIGHT, to WIN
To not "give in" and try to work things out.
People should learn that FORGIVENESS, is the Greatest
Gift they can give, to Another and for Themselves!!
